I joined Blacktown Pipe Band in 1995 and learnt to play the pipes. I played in a couple of Australian Nationals which I enjoyed. I left in 2003 when I bought a house and a few years later became a Dad, which really thrilled me. In late 2007 , I joined the Hawkesbury City Pipe Band.
What do you love about being in this band?
Playing in pipe band competitions, street marches and pubs, mateship and the opportunity to meet new people.
What inspired you to learn the pipes?
My Dad inspired me to learn the bagpipes as he use to take me to the Anzac march, highland gatherings, and he always played a bagpipe record every day. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo also inspired me.
What do you do when you aren't playing the pipes?
Spending time with my beautiful partner, baby boy and family, enjoy painting expressionist landscape paintings, having a beer at the pub with my mates and watching the Penrith Panthers.
